Page with the Oxford almanac for the year 1946. Includes a list of the heads of the Colleges and Halls of Oxford University, and the University officers. On top of page there is an illustration of the St. Giles fair of 1945. St Giles Fair is an annual fair held in St Giles', a wide thoroughfare in central north Oxford, England, organized by the Oxford City Council. It is unusual the fact that is held in a major street of a city and blocking traffic for its two-day duration in September each year. Since the 19th century, St Giles' Fair has been held on the Monday and Tuesday following the first Sunday after St Giles' Day (1 September).
