- Title:
- Phyllis Hoekstra Kort - "By the Roadside: A Little Sermon" (March 28, 1982)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 30:56. Sermon end time: (Part 2) 1:00.
Focusing on the story of “Blind Bartimaeus,” Kort discusses what each major character of the story can teach us and ultimately concludes God is so big that even the teeniest among us are included; using the characters, she implores to audience to identify with each: the crowd, who often are too busy paying attention to the loudest things and forcibly silence those in pain; Jesus, whose healing comes first in his hearing the cries of Bartimaeus; and Bartimaeus himself, who, asks for help and has enough spunk to spring up when the help is offered.
