- Title:
- Earl G. Hunt, Jr. - "The Day of the Lord" (December 12, 1982)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 48:12. Sermon end time: (Part 2) 36:00.
In this Founder's Day sermon, the preacher celebrates the life and legacy James Buchanan Duke, particularly his emphasis on education. Then, through the focal phrase, "the day of the Lord," the preacher seeks to instill a sense of urgency and disposition to action in four domains: 1) preventing the impending possibility of nuclear destruction; 2) shoring up the quality and continuance of liberal education; 3) addressing various societal ills; and 4) recovering a sense of joy in the Savior. (Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)
