- Title:
- William H. Willimon - "Holy Extravagance" (March 31, 1985)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 36:15. Sermon end time: (Part 2) 10:50.
The preacher argues that love is extravagant and excessive, and so our worship of God should be the same. He disapproves of the claim that churches should spend more money on helping the poor than build fancy chapels. The preacher contends that sanctuaries are manifestations of the presence of God’s Kingdom and should display that extravagance of love. (Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)
