- Title:
- William H. Willimon - "Depart from Me" (February 9, 1986)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 24:55. Sermon end time: (Part 1) 41:52.
The preacher wisely points out the great terror that both Isaiah and Peter felt in the presence of God. The chasm between our pretentious goodness and God’s holiness is the reason for this terror before God. Yet God crosses this gap and reaches us through love. This sermon reminds its audience of the ontological difference between God and humanity and thus the great love God holds for us, though we are utterly unworthy.
