- Title:
- William H. Willimon - "House of God" (June 1, 1986)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 27:07. Sermon end time: (Part 2) 3:54.
This sermon argues the necessity of building sanctuaries. The preacher uses the story of Solomon’s dedication of the Temple to argue that human-made houses cannot contain God, yet as places of worship, sanctuaries help believers better experience God at a specific place and time. The preacher also appreciates the effort of building Duke Chapel 51 years ago by the University and acknowledges the many differences Duke Chapel’s existence has made.
