- Title:
- William H. Willimon - "God Said, "Light!" (September 16, 2001)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 2:35. Sermon end time: (Part 1) 19:46.
A sermon preached on the Sunday following the September 11 Terrorist Attacks, the preacher wants to assure his audience that God is still there holding the world up, amidst the chaos. He parallels the 911 attacks with the destruction of walls and temple in Jerusalem during the exile, both of which are unimaginable to God’s people. He subtly implies that America should repent from the violence and wars it had caused in Iraq and Afghan and affirms that, like exile, there is a greater hope hereafter.
