- Title:
- William Sloane Coffin, Jr. - "Scared to Death" (October 12, 1975)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: (Part 1) 32:38. Sermon end time: (Part 1) 52:27.
In the paralytic we see ourselves in extremis, he is the embodiment of the eternal paralysis of the human will, the death drive which ravages us all, our fear of life and our captivity to the forces of both our inner death drive and the outer powers and principalities. The answer to our paralysis cannot come from proof or knowledge but in an answerer, in the eternal disseminator of life and freedom, embodied in Christ (Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)
