- Title:
- Nancy Ferree-Clark - "Desire" (January 17, 1988)
- Description:
-
Sermon start time: 19:36. Sermon end time: 36:24.
The human desire to know God is a deep, natural yearning in each of us. Yet, such a spark cannot be fanned into a burning flame without regular and intentional acts of discipline and prayer. Even still, it is the case that, in our pursuit of God through prayer, we will inevitably meet moments of silence and doubt. We must have faith to persist through such times. (Abstract created by Duke Divinity School staff.)
Key quotation: “Though the desire for God does, I believe, arise naturally, deep within a person, it must be unmasked, and that must be done daily.”
