Our first lesson is a reading from the book of Exodus. | 8:58
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, | 9:02
with the two tables of the testimony in his hand | 9:05
as he came down from the mountain, | 9:08
Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone | 9:10
because he had been talking with God. | 9:14
And when Aaron and all of the people of Israel saw Moses, | 9:16
behold, the skin of his face shone, | 9:20
and they were afraid to come near him. | 9:22
But, Moses called to them, and Aaron | 9:25
and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, | 9:28
and Moses talked with them. | 9:31
And afterward, all the people of Israel came near, | 9:33
and he gave them in commandment | 9:37
all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. | 9:39
And when Moses had finished speaking with them, | 9:43
he put a veil on his face, | 9:45
but whenever Moses went in before the Lord | 9:48
to speak with him, he took the veil off until he came out. | 9:50
And when he came out and told the people of Israel | 9:55
what he was commanded, the people of Israel saw | 9:58
that the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone, | 10:01
and that Moses would put the veil on his face again | 10:06
until he went in to speak with Him. | 10:09

Now, about eight days after these sayings, | 13:12
He took with Him Peter, and John, and James, | 13:15
and went up on the mountain to pray. | 13:18
And as He was praying, | 13:20
the appearance of his countenance was altered | 13:22
and his raiment became dazzling white. | 13:24
And, behold, two men talked with Him, Moses and Elijah, | 13:27
who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, | 13:31
which He was to accomplish at Jerusalem. | 13:34
Now, Peter and those who were with Him | 13:37
were heavy with sleep, | 13:39
and when they wakened, they saw His glory | 13:41
and the two men who stood with Him. | 13:44
And, as the men were parting from Him, | 13:47
Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is well that we are here." | 13:49
"Let us make three booths," | 13:53
"one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah," | 13:54
not knowing what he said. | 13:58
As he said this, a cloud came down and overshadowed them, | 14:00
and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. | 14:04
And, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, | 14:08
"This is my son, my chosen, listen to Him." | 14:10
And, when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone, | 14:15
and they kept silence and told no one in those days | 14:19
anything of what they had seen. | 14:22
