Jean Dominique's editorial following the funeral of Gasner Raymond, the 23-year-old young journalist for independent weekly Le Petit Samedi Soir. The discovery of his body on June 1, 1976 shocked the media community. Many believe Raymond was murdered by government henchmen because of an article he wrote criticizing the government's mishandling of a workers' strike at the Haitian Cement Factory. Gasner's death put into sharp relief the dangers of exercising freedom of the press in Jean-Claude Duvalier's Haiti.

Éditorial de Jean Dominique, après l’enterrement de Gasner Raymond, un jeune journaliste de vingt-trois ans, qui écrivait pour l'hebdomadaire indépendant Le Petit Samedi Soir. La découverte de son corps, le 1er Juin 1976, a choqué tous les médias. Beaucoup de gens croient que Raymond a été assassiné par le gouvernement, à cause d'un article critiquant le gouvernement pour sa mauvaise gestion de la grève des travailleurs à l’usine de Ciment d’Haïti. La mort de Gasner a confirmé le danger qui accompagne l'exercice de la liberté de la presse, sous le régime de Jean-Claude Duvalier.
