  • A verdict was handed down in the Audubon Stamp Scandal. Frantz Leroy, Marlene Leroy, Guy Leroy and René Exumé were found guilty and received long prison sentences for the sale of millions of dollars of illegal postage stamps featuring James Audubon's "Birds of America". Eight others were acquitted, among them former Commerce and Industry Minister Dr. Serge Fourcand, Fritz Denis, ak Pierre-Richard Maximilien.

  • Après un procès télévisé de huit jours, un verdict a été rendu dans l'affaire des timbres Audubon. Frantz Leroy, Marlene Leroy, Guy Leroy et René Exumé ont été reconnus coupables et ont été condamnés à de longues peines de prison pour la vente de timbres-poste illicites comportant les « Birds of America » de James Audubon, dont la fraude s'éleva à des millions de dollars. Huit autres ont été acquittés. Parmi eux, l'ancien ministre du Commerce et de l'Industrie docteur Serge Fourcand, Fritz Denis et Pierre-Richard Maximilien.
